Approach
My practice is centred on designing text- and image-based narratives, grounded in the cultural, historical, and political contexts of graphic design in India. My approach is research-led, shaped by critical enquiry and sensitivity to cultural nuance.
Experience
From 2016 to 2023, I worked as a book designer with independent visual arts publisher Tara Books, Chennai, and I continue to collaborate with them as a freelancer. My projects with the team explore creative text-image narratives across indigenous and contemporary art forms and photography, and experiment with printing techniques and the form of the book.
I also work as a consultant with BluePencil InfoDesign, Hyderabad, on editorial and communication design projects, including annual reports, brochures, and calendars.
I hold an MA by Research in Typography and Graphic Communication (2024) from the University of Reading, United Kingdom, supported by the Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation. This academic training informs my work on multi-script typography and design in India.
Alongside my design practice, I write, speak, and occasionally teach typography, book design, and visual culture. Selected engagements include a talk on Telugu book typography at the Hyderabad Literary Festival 2025, curriculum design and teaching at AND Academy, New Delhi, and workshops and mentorship sessions for emerging designers.
