HydandSeek: A Visual Tribute to Hyderabad is a collection of photographs of Hyderabad’s streets captured by photographer Lakshmi Prabhala. A quiet and poetic narrative leads the viewer through the stunning visuals, which showcase unexpected moments in the everyday life of the city. This book was conceptualised and published by Sadhana Ramchander of BluePencil Creative.
The conventional idea for a cover would have been to choose ‘the best’ photograph and sandwich it between a title and tagline. But we wanted the new perspective of the city that this book presented to reflect on the cover as well. The laser-cut cover was inspired from the arches and a grill pattern from Hyderabad’s most well-known monument, the Charminar. The photograph that is seen through the cuts is of the view from atop the monument.
The graphic quality of the photographs was enhanced through the addition of a second visual element: lines that interact with the images in different ways.
