HydandSeek: A visual tribute to Hyderabad is a book of street photographs by Lakshmi Prabhala. The book brings together images of the city's everyday spaces and unexpected moments, sequenced to create a quiet and easy-going narrative. The project was conceptualised and published by Sadhana Ramchander of BluePencil Infodesign.
The cover of the book departs from the conventional approach of foregrounding a single image. Instead, it was conceived as an extension of the new perspective of the city that this book presented. A laser-cut pattern—inspired by the arches and grillwork of Hyderabad’s most well-known monument, the Charminar—frames a photograph on the inner page taken from atop the monument itself, allowing the image to be gradually revealed through the cover.
Within the book, a secondary graphic element was introduced to interact with the photographs. Simple lines function as a visual system that responds to the geometry of the images, enhancing their impact while maintaining a restrained visual rhythm.
