Weaving with compassion: the Rikhyas of Kutch explores the Meghwal weaver community in Kutch, Gujarat. The book was developed by crafts practitioner Meera Goradia and published by Tara Books.
I was responsible for both photography and book design. I approached the photography through the lens of a book designer, ensuring the images were developed in close dialogue with the text while following a consistent visual language. The layout system was designed to accommodate multiple narrative strands, bringing together abstract and metaphorical textual and visual elements within a clear and flexible structure.
